Society for Acute Medicine's 15th Annual International Conference: SAMLondon 2021 - our 21st birthday
The 15th Annual International Conference is on the 5-6 October 2021 at the QEII Centre, London. This is the first time that the SAM family have been able to get together in-person for two years. Many have missed the networking, social interaction & opportunity to collaborate with like minded colleagues in acute medicine so this is your chance to 'get back in the room.' We have all missed the chats that happen in the coffee breaks, queues and with speakers after their talks. That's what adds huge value - not to mention a great SAM atmosphere and the conference dinner.
The QEII Centre takes the prevention of the spread of Covid-19 very seriously & are taking additional precautions to reduce the risk of spreading the virus. You can view their comprehensive policy on the additional measures that they are taking to keep everyone safe here.
You can, of course, also attend virtually as for some we recognise this works better.
The theme of the conference is “Equality and Diversity” which cuts across everything we do and everything we stand for in acute medicine.
We have some big hitters attending. RCP President Professor Bod Goddard makes a welcome return and we have other headline acts. Professor Jonathan Van Tam is in the house. When ‘JVT’ has taken the stage on national television to discuss COVID-19, people not only listen, they also understand what he says; living proof that common sense, clear communication and telling it straight are true virtues. We are also delighted that helping to close the meeting is the Rt. Hon. Jeremy Hunt, Chair Health Select Committee. Mr Hunt has, as you know, had the occasional difference of opinion with the health professions though we look forward to welcoming him to SAM.
The programme is full of renowned speakers that will make the conference a great success. Our independent programme continues to be based on the most recent research and development in acute medicine.
In-person delegates can also access the virtual platform thereby ensuring they can watch any sessions they miss at the live event. Sessions will be available to all delegates (in person and virtual) for 3 months following the event.
Nurses/ACPs/ANPs qualify for the 3 for 2 offer - pay for only 2 places for 3 people to attend. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Abstract Submission is now close. Results were all emailed to submitting authors on 18 August 2021. If you have not heard, please contact email@example.com
We are pleased to work again with Kubify's Learning Toolbox which we used with great results at our SAMGlasgow and scouseSAM Virtual conferences. Successful abstract submitters will be invited to build their ePoster for the online ePoster Showcase at SAMLondon. It may also be possible to display successful posters as mini-posters at the conference. ePosters will be available online for three months after the conference extending the life and reach of your work.
